Tasks

  • LabVIEW programming
  • Design and develop software systems using scientific analysis and engineering principles to control and measure custom designed test applications.
  • Consult with clients to evaluate hardware and software requirements to develop system specifications and performance requirements for solution to problems.
  • Consult with clients on project status and technical issues I.E. software and systems design and maintenance.
  • Evaluate and monitor parameters to ensure on-time, on budget, and in scope project delivery.
  • Specify hardware components for systems integration.
  • Oversee mechanical/electrical hydraulic and pneumatic designs.
  • Interact with suppliers/vendors to ensure proper selection of custom/fabrication and machining of components.
  • Supervise integration and assembly of custom systems, providing technical expertise and guidance to project team members.
  • Troubleshoot equipment during initial start up
  • Install custom designed/developed software to validate conformance to project specifications.
  • Train systems users in system operation and/or maintenance.
  • Document project budget, expenses, time sheets etc.
  • Communicate project information through presentations, technical reports and white papers.
  • Utilize National Instruments hardware and software (LabVIEW and TestStand) to develop test systems, implement control algorithms and measurement process variables.
  • Verify stability, interoperability, portability, security or scalability of system architecture.

Tools, Knowledge and Technology

  • Proficient in English and reading and writing of work related documents
  • Strong Programming experience with higher level languages I.E. LabVIEW, C, C++, VBA, .NET etc.
  • National Instruments Hardware and Software
  • Project management principles and methodology
  • Electrical panel design, basic electronic circuits and basic mechanical principles
  • Multimeters, logic and spectrum analyzers
  • Mechanical and electrical/electronics assembly tools
  • Desktop computers, Windows and Microsoft office software
