Account Executive

We are seeking a passionate leader who can act as the point person for prospects throughout the sales process including ongoing customer relationship management.  This person will be persistent, reliable, and creative in how they engage with customers.

Our Account Executives maintain enough relevant technical expertise to engage in initial prospecting and needs identification after which a Sales Engineer can help.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Identify potential customers through market research, attendance at trade shows and industry intelligence gathering.

  • Generate sale leads by networking, cold-calling, building and leveraging industry-related and professional relationships, and through timely follow up with referrals.

  • Establish relationships with existing customers in order to facilitate repeat sales.

  • Develop plans to increase sales within targeted regions and with target products, and execute on those plans.

  • Respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and ensure the delivery of professional proposals and presentations.

  • Develop and secure profitable business from new customers who are aligned with the company's targeted customer criteria.

  • Educate customers to grow the business.

  • Negotiate Contracts and Purchase Order Terms and Conditions with customers.

  • Stay abreast of the Company's products and services, and monitor changes in the industry.

  • Work closely with team members including Product Managers, Operations, R&D, and Marketing to provide critical input on strategies for new business solutions.

  • Proactively identify potential challenges and risks that could affect the implementation of a new product/service.

  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within assigned area of responsibility including the use of CRM, Pipeline Report, and Weekly Reviews

  • Ensure execution of customer delight initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong technical competence to engage our customers and understand their needs.

  • Strong sales skills, including a demonstrated ability to close orders.

  • Experience in thermal management and fluid power.

  • Knowledge of (or the ability to learn quickly) the principles of automobile parts testing.

  • Knowledge of production and test processes and best practices.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to overcome challenges with patience, creativity, and attention to detail.

  • Think quickly and work interdependently in a fast-changing environment.

  • Comfortably work with a multicultural team and client base.

  • Software Skills - Experience with Office Suite or Google Docs and experience with online CRM software

  • Four-year diploma or degree, or equivalent experience.

ATA Accurate™ Services Leader
Advanced Test and Automation has over a decade of expertise in developing customized test solutions for critical automotive components such as pumps, heat exchangers, and electrified powertrain components. As our ATA Accurate Services Leader, your primary goal will be to develop offerings and execute calibration services for our ECT™ Systems and modules through our branded ATA Accurate™ calibration service.

This role:

  • Works closely with the Business Manager to develop and execute a strategic plan (RPP) to rapidly grow the ATA Accurate Services.
  • Develops & executes a plan to maintain and expand A2LA lab accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 in order to be the best in class provider for ATA test systems and services.
  • Drives positive developments in productivity and utilization by creating and applying innovative process improvements.
  • Prepares the technical content for proposals (including cost) such that the sales managers can deliver quotes within 24 hours of request.
  • Reviews jobs with customer prior to job start. (Checklist to be included in job network drive).
  • Maintains a network based master schedule (resource & equipment)
  • Has a thorough operational knowledge of each piece of measurement equipment in the lab.
  • Works side-by-side with other ATA personnel as necessary to run tests at ATA's facility.
  • Assists Engineers and Technicians as necessary to ensure orders and services are completed on time.
  • Maintains a record of budgeted costs versus actual costs (on a per service basis).
  • Schedules and attends to calibration service to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinates service repairs, maintenance and calibrations for lab equipment used for the business.
  • Ensures the network based customer job file is organized and complete (Podio, Google Drive, Cad files, Drawings, Quote, PO. Job Checklist, meeting minutes).

Working @ Advanced Test and Automation
This is a full-time permanent position, working out of our modern, state-of-the-art office and shop. We offer an attractive salary range of $60,000-$70,000/year commensurate with experience. You need to be willing to travel on occasion, domestically and internationally.

Industrial Designer 

Advanced Test and Automation has over a decade of expertise in developing customized test solutions for critical automotive components such as pumps, heat exchangers, and electrified powertrain components. As our newest industrial designer, your main goal is to conceptualize and design the testing platforms that our customers rely on. 

We like to think of our testing platforms as Lego constructs – any one part can be connected with another, to create a new platform that meets our customer’s needs. This is what makes us unique, and is the concept that will drive your work. You’re able to conceptualize big picture designs, and break them down into their component ‘Lego’ pieces. 

You have a solid understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems, and knowledge of how to design across those platforms. We want you to use this knowledge to create components that will fit in any place, in any design. You’re well organized, have great attention to detail, and work a steady pace that allows you to meet all deadlines. 

You also have terrific communication skills, and build strong relationships with the rest of the ATA team and your clients. 

You’ll have a high degree of self-management in this role, one that requires you to be flexible, and take a multi-disciplined approach to design. You take ownership of your projects, have good self-initiative, and are a decisive and critical thinker – you can take information and advice, and distill it down to make great decisions for the benefit of the company. 

On a practical level, you will: 

  • Generate design models and drawings using 3D SolidWorks
  • Work with, and support, manufacturing throughout the design process
  • Communicate effectively with customers to ensure your designs meet needs and specifications
  • Work effectively to deliver efficient and consistent designs that meet project budgets and timelines
  • Overcome design challenges with patience, creativity, and attention to detail

Mechanical Technician 

Advanced Test and Automation has over a decade of expertise in developing customized test solutions for critical automotive components such as pumps, heat exchangers, and electrified powertrain components. As our newest mechanical technician, your primary goal will be to oversee the assembly and implementation of our machines for our customers. 

In this role you will be acting as the face of the company, as the majority of your work will be performed on-site with our clients. Your terrific mechanical and technical skills mean that you are able to confidently perform the initial startup and testing of our products, as well as any necessary troubleshooting and service calls. On top of your significant technical background, we would also love for you to have experience or exposure to the LabVIEW software system. 

You are also highly detail oriented, and possess excellent project management skills. You can capably handle multiple processes at once, with the ability to harness and manage outside resources as necessary. You are solution oriented, have a very high standard of quality, and a commitment to excellence. 

As an on-site representative of the company, you also have excellent people skills. You can walk into any environment, and easily relate to a wide variety of people, from contractors to owners and executives to engineers. You’re able to build relationships and you have strong communication skills. All of these qualities also serve to make you a great mentor, and you will gradually seek to build and mentor a team of fellow technicians. 

On a practical level, you will: 

  • Implement start-up and testing processes of new machinery
  • Read mechanical and electrical drawings and interface with engineering design team to recommend updates and changes as required to support production
  • Build and maintain ongoing and existing customer relationships by serving as representative of ATA
  • Travel regularly to client sites, including international travel
  • Work closely with customers to ensure machines are running at exact specifications and meet client needs
  • Perform any troubleshooting and repair as necessary 

Working @ Advanced Test and Automation 

This is a full-time permanent position, working out of our modern, state-of-the-art office and shop. We offer an attractive starting salary range of $55,000-$65,000/year commensurate with experience. You need to be willing to travel regularly (up to twice a month) domestically and internationally.
