At Advanced Test and Automation we enable vehicles to become dramatically better. How? We provide highly automated testing systems for vehicle components that improve their efficiency and safety, while reducing cost, recalls, and emissions. Our systems are used by manufacturers worldwide to validate and continuously improve their designs, and in their production lines for absolute quality assurance.
We are experiencing some exciting growth and require a Project Manager who will work closely with the leadership team members to forecast resource availability and the schedule of activities, looking 3 - 6 months ahead. Work will include design phase of orders, build phase of orders, and advising for customer interactions. Direct machine building experience is a necessity for this role.
This role would be ideal for an individual who is available on a part-time contract basis. It is anticipated that the weekly hours will fluctuate depending on business orders. A typical work week may be 1 - 3 days per week and has some flexibility.
Drive the operations of machine orders, schedule tasks, ensure operations are on track, verify task completion, and coordinate resources in response to challenges.
Implement tracking system and work breakdown.
Take ownership of the task list and achieve a thorough understanding of what is required to validate completion of order tasks.
Proactively seek to identify risk points and critical steps in production operations before they happen.
Initiate, coordinate and track quality control activities at the end of the build phase, working closely with engineering.
Monitor the allocated budgeting of each project, work towards targets set by database numbers and/or leadership team.
Interact with customers, arrange meeting times, create agendas, take minutes, follow-up on action items. Include Sales in customer communication.
Prepare and manage standard project documentation, such as project charters, project status updates, engineering change notices, acceptance checklists, close-out forms, etc.
Attend internal Project Review Meetings with the other group leaders and report on project performance and any lessons learned.
Work safely, follow company Health and Safety procedures and promote safety within the company.
To be successful in this role, we believe this individual needs to have:
10+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment. Working with machine manufacturing would be preferred. Knowledge of how to design and build a custom test machine is ideal.
Engineering experience or education is a strong benefit.
PMP certification preferred.
Self driven, accustomed to using a hands-on approach.
Past experience working within a smaller company (<40 people) would be beneficial.
Excellent communication, organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
The ability to overcome challenges with patience, creativity, and persistence.
Strong time management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities in a fast-changing environment.
Proficiency in MS Office / Google App.
Experience with Microsoft Project, or equivalent project management tool.
Occasional local and international travel may be required.
Must have Driver’s License with vehicle.
