Electrical Installer

We are experiencing some exciting growth and require an Electrical Installer.  This individual will take responsibility for the installation of the electrical portions of our machines and ensure they integrate with the other systems to produce a quality product that meets our customer needs.

They will work with and assist the Mechanical Installers to meet project deadlines and improve installation processes, schedules and customer satisfaction.  In addition, they will execute tasks with a high degree of organization, accuracy, and professionalism. As well, they will work within a high-paced, dynamic environment with multiple, sometime competing, priorities.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Read and understand electrical drawings, schematics and specifications.

  • Install power cables and control wiring according to accepted standards and practices.

  • Test and troubleshoot installed hardware and wiring.

  • Work safely and carefully.

  • Keep a clean and organized work area.

  • Communicate professionally with customers as required, maintaining excellent relationships on behalf of ATA.

  • Support engineers with system design and problem solving.

  • Participate in product FMEA sessions with Engineering team from an electrical perspective.

  • Assist the Lead Mechanical Installer as required.

  • Lead and coordinate the work of contractors during peak times.

  • Perform machine ESA inspections and PSA inspections.

  • Assist with the improvement of ATA products.

  • Ensure implementation of electrical as-built updates with engineering team.

  • Manage inventory of electrical components, material and tooling, purchase inventory parts according to machine build plan

  • Work safely, follow company Health and Safety procedures and promote safety within the company.

  • Other tasks as assigned.


To be successful in this role, we believe this individual needs to have:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics or similar discipline

  • Knowledge of Electrical Standards for machine wiring.

  • Familiarity with CSP SPe-1000 standard is an asset.

  • Practical experience in assembly, installation, maintenance of electrical and automation systems, panel wiring and field wiring

  • Familiar with wiring gage, wiring tools, DMM and oscilloscope use, and a variety of hand tools

  • Some experience in automation safety circuits is desired

  • Hardware troubleshooting and testing experience preferred

  • Some experience in programming and troubleshooting PLCs would be beneficial

  • Experience with installing and troubleshooting servomotor controllers and temperature controllers.

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work

  • Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment

  • Highly motivated, team player, able to execute tasks with minimal guidance

  • The ability to lead other technicians

  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • An ability to suggest improvements

  • Proficiency in MS Office / Google App.

  • Ability to overcome challenges with patience, creativity, and perseverance

  • Comfortable working with a multicultural team and client base.

  • Must have Driver’s License with vehicle.
